Ok so I think that this is my second post. Not doing so well keeping everyone up to date. Love the Eddie story Laurel! You really need to get your kids a dog.
I did the heated yoga 4 times in the last 10 days. I also started the training program with Luke’s Locker on the 13th. I am not doing that great with my weekly runs though. Still dealing with IT issues. I ran on Tuesday morning with the Luke’s group. I ran 30 minutes and I used this band thing around the knee and the IT band felt much better!! I’ll get this thing figured out yet. I have to wear it above my knee though. It’s barely big enough to fit around my fat little legs. I am meeting the group tomorrow for a run and some other exercises. I will try and run this evening also.Â
I have also been doing the South Beach/Atkins since the 15th. I weighed this morning at 136.5. Whoo hoo! The is the least amount I have weighed in a long time. I really want to keep going with the yoga. I think that is really helping a lot too! I am going to wait until I get all of the vacations out of the way in July though.Â
I hope the surgery on Friday doesn’t derail me too much also. Hopefully I will recover quickly.Â
Can’t wait for Cabo!!!

It has been a while since any of us has posted. I have been running about three times a week, I just haven’t been logging it. I haven’t run any long runs in the past couple of weekends because we have been camping or visiting. Same for this weekend coming up. But I am at my steady 5 miles 3 times a week.
We had a major storm here last night. Not much damage this morning but lots of mud. Not even 1 mile into my run, a dog got out of his fence and jumped all over me with muddy paws. Yeah! I put him back in his fence and latched the gate, only to see him catch up a couple of strides later. I ignored him and he ran the rest of my run with me. He was a good running partner. He didn’t run in front of me or try to trip me up. He ran all the way home with me. I showed the family my friend and the kids decided to name him Eddie.
He fed him some banana bread (on the sly) and wanted to get him a water bowl. I put a stop to that quick. I do not want a dog. Especially an outdoor one. It was a funny sight though, all my kids in their jammies (Beck in his undies), outside petting Eddie.
Rhett wants to try this diet: http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2007/04/06/how-to-lose-20-lbs-of-fat-in-30-days-without-doing-any-exercise/
I am not so sure about the no cereal. The rest I could probably do. But no white carbs would be tricky for me. I am definitely down with the free-for-all day!

OK, we’re halfway through boot camp. I’ve been doing prettywell…. at least until today. We were to do an exercise for the triceps where you stand on a band, put your elbows straight up in the air and then pull up. I could get my elbows up in the air, but wasn’t even able to begin to pull the band up. My trainer had to straighten my arms and I had to hold there or fall down! Quite humiliating (not really!) and everyone was laughing at me! And the ones knew me last year and knew I recently finished the climb, well they gave me quite a bit of you know what! Especially the male coach who’s butt I kicked when doing sprints on Wednesday. Hee! Hee!
The upside of the “adventure” is that I’ve lost a couple of pounds and my body fat has dropped 2%. Hopefully an upcoming weekend of parties and sailboat racing won’t undo it.
I’ve posted a Rookie Marathon Training schedule that the Diabetes Action Team is having their group do. It’s for 16 weeks (Are we there yet?), and I think it actually would be a good one to do. It looks as though the mileage increase is good and it doesn’t have us doing CRAZY big miles toward the end (which will be better for our joints). Let me know if y’all don’t like it and we can replace it with a different one.
For now, I must get back to work.

Run the Lake Lewisville Toll Bridge
At long last, the Lake Lewisville Toll bridge is going to open. Who knew it would take 15 years! Of course, I am SUPER excited that I won’t have to drive around the lake every time I go to Dallas. However, I’ve just learned of a run that is pretty exciting in its own right.
The toll authorities are going to open the bridge up to pedestrian traffic for one day and one day only. Fortunately, someone had the wherewithal to coordinate a 5K run/walk. If you’re interested in doing this “once-in-a-lifetime” event (yes, I will admit that I am a sucker for once-in-a-lifetime things!), go check out the website and register. Race closes at 2500.
It’s the weekend after we get back from Cabo. At least I hope so…. I’ve already registered!

Did the Indy Mini on the 2nd. I have to admit a farted around during the run…taking pictures, visiting the Indy 500 medics, basically having a gay old time. Figured since I wasn’t going to break any records I may as well enjoy the opportunity to enoy being on the track. Seriously, when will I ever get another chance to have th medics wrap a bandage around my foot (blister) while I sat and walked around barefoot on the oval? I may have to go back at least once since I didn’t take a picture of the bricks and the event photographers didn’t pick me out of the crowd of 38,000 as I was running across!
I didn’t get a chance to do any real exercising while in Atlanta. (Pretty sure that laughing hysterically as I rode a segway around the town on a ghost tour doesn’t count as exercise!)
Hit the gym yesterday morning and joined the next session of bootcamp. Mission: Fitness starts at a crazy 5:00 AM, but I’m at the office a couple of hours earlier, totally energized and ready to take on the world. Haven’t stepped on the scale lately, but I’m sure it’s up due to the travel, but sure that it could have been worse. I paid attention and was reasonable in my eating while I was gone, save for the fried chicken at Miss Pitty Pat’s Cafe. You pretty much have to eat there, though, when you are in Atlanta.

Forgot my stopwatch this morning. It was really muggy out there and didn’t have any water so I cut the run short. I did order my water carrier. Should be here Monday. I also, jacked something in my side butt region. Feels like it needs to pop back into place. It has gotten better as the day went on but I think I will rest it tomorrow. Not really sure what happened. Didn’t really do anything weird on my run.

Yeah, lost some weight. So what did I do? Milkshake, burger, and soda. Seriously, I think I have a screw loose… Tomorrow’s weight should be fun!

I did boot camp this morning. It wasn’t too bad we will see how I fell tomorrow though! Got on the scale this morning and it wasn’t pretty! Oh well I’m headed in the right direction again.
